Software Developer

DESCRIPTION: This opportunity involves the creation of software designed for military research and development work. The job requirement is broad; the developer should be flexible enough to tackle many types of projects.  From scripting 3D graphical gaming engines, authoring Unmanned Vehicle System (UVS) software, to custom tailored video management systems. These systems are typically prototype software projects or proof of concepts so the focus is on rapid development.

The ideal candidate will possess sharp analytical skills, good math, and an understanding of physics. The position may be require consulting with military operators and/or hardware engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, and operational and performance requirements of overall system. Candidate may also be required to coordinate installation of software systems. Travel is a requirement (approximately 15%).

What you will be doing:

• Coding User Interfaces (UI) on a 3D gaming engine
• Develop software that operates and interfaces with Unmanned Vehicles
• Work with Department of Defense XML standards
• Operate Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs)

LOCATION: This is a full-time position, located in Tampa, FL.  Anticipate travel 15%.

REQUIREMENTS:

• BS/MS in Computer Science (or equivalent training or experience)
• 4 Years hands-on C++ experience
• Experience with the software development cycle
• Excellent Math / Physics skills
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Familiarity with Open GL
• .NET experience
• Military background
• Understanding of TCP/IP & serial communications
